Meru is a legendary and extremely tall mountain from the Indian subcontinent. All of the planets as well as the celestial sphere orbit around Meru, yet it is not visible. This gave me idea of placing the mountain at the center of universe and supporting earth.
As the painting emerged, I also gave a thought on end.
