Akash/Sky
Space
Akash or sky was perhaps considered a physical entity by some civilizations. It is said that Aristotle was responsible for adding this to the list of five. However, it was already in vogue in Indian civilization. It was sometimes called Shunya (zero). Literally meaning void.
Void is an abstract concept. I took the opportunity to depict personalities and concepts. Several paintings Some of them are covered here.
Ajit Kesakambali was oldest known rationalist. He denied sky as physical entity which was probably considered as abode to souls.
Euclid was a master of geometry. The geometry he developed helped in enumerating planes through triangles.
Cartesian coordinate system, developed by DesCarte enumerated space and brought it firmly with mathematics.
